And it’s a similar kind of story if you head towards Le Fornet and Pissaillas. Where to start for intermediates? Well, if you are looking to get the miles in then where better to start than heading up the Olympique gondola towards Tignes Les Brevieres! With plenty of runs to cover in between, there is some superb skiing to be had. Otherwise, some of the better runs for expert skiers are over by Tignes, with plenty of black runs to have a crack at. ‘Face’ as it is known as for short, is guaranteed to get your legs burning and provides a whole host of challenges to overcome! Be sure to catch this World Cup run in the morning though when there are no other tracks on it and you will have the ride of your life. But don’t take our word for it – get yourselves out to Val d’Isere to see how many runs you can tame… The Val d’Isere lift pass covers 4 of the 8 ever expanding Espace Killy area, these are Bellevarde, Solaise, Fornet/Iseran and Pissaillas areas. So if your legs aren’t quite feeling up for it after a bit of après ski, we suggest kicking back and letting the lifts do the hard work for you and ferry you back down to the bottom!
Whilst having some truly fantastic long runs that bring you back down towards Val d’Isere and La Daille, the runs are better suited towards intermediate and advanced skiers. The Espace Killy ski area has something for everyone which is why it makes such an amazing winter holiday destination! With those fiddly tree lines around Val d’Isere and La Daille mixed with the high altitude, expansive glacier skiing on both the Glacier du Pissaillas and the Glacier la Grande Motte, there is such a variety of skiing on offer, and plenty to make you feel alive!
From Le Fornet all the way to Les Brevieres you would be hard pushed to cover the ski area in a week, let alone a weekend!
